What we collect and why
Membership asks only for your real name, work email and firm. A password is required for authentication and is handled by our authentication service, not displayed to administrators. We use membership details to verify and approve accounts, prevent abuse and communicate with you. We also store content you choose to submit, your email preferences, and necessary account and security records.
Your real membership details are private to you and administrators. Public anonymous posting does not hide your identity from administrators. Published broker tips and approved reviews can be public; community discussions and vendor news require membership. Avoid submitting client information, employee account details or confidential firm information.
Membership verification
Administrators compare your work-email domain and stated firm with reviewed firm-domain entries supported by SEC IAPD or FINRA records. Our search provider receives your name, firm and email domain, but not your full email address or authentication details, to locate indexed public registration evidence. Administrators may also review public LinkedIn profiles manually. Source excerpts and check dates are stored privately and removed when your account is deleted. These checks do not prove identity or employment; absent records do not automatically reject an application, and an administrator makes the approval decision.
Storage and optional tracking
Essential storage keeps you signed in and remembers privacy choices. Optional sponsor view and click counts are disabled until you explicitly accept. These counts do not include your name or email. Hosting-injected analytics scripts are blocked by the site's script policy. You can reject optional tracking without losing access and change your choice at any time.
Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses and technical request logs needed to deliver and protect the service; these are separate from optional analytics.
Service providers and emails
Our hosting, authentication, storage and email providers process data to operate the service. AI services assist with moderation and news summaries; private member contact details are not included in moderation prompts. We do not sell membership contact details. Your profile has separate email preferences; password reset and security emails are necessary for account access. External websites have their own privacy practices.
Deletion and retention
In Profile, you can delete all your submitted broker tips or permanently delete your account. Account deletion removes your private profile, email preferences, private member conversation, submitted tips, reviews, stacks and community posts from the active database. Deleting a thread also removes its replies. Company listings and logos remain, without your ownership claim.
We retain account data while your account exists. Backups, security logs and legally required business records may remain under the relevant provider's retention or legal obligations; deletion cannot retrieve copies others already saved. Contact us to request access, correction or help with deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and give notice of material changes where required.
